This world cancer day we are here to raise awareness about the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer.
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Head of Oncology Alessandro Carugo, PhD. Prior to joining, Alessandro spent more than 10 years at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, a world-renowned institution devoted to cancer patient care and prevention. In conjunction with academic leaders and partners, he has established international initiatives oriented to #closethegap for neglected and rare cancers.
Alessandro has designed and implemented innovative solutions for precision medicine and translational pharmacology in Oncology. In addition to his leadership role in drug discovery and translational medicine, Alessandro co-authored more than 30 manuscripts, is a regular speaker at international scientific conferences, has served as a peer reviewer for multiple scientific journals and trained a new generation of young scientists and fellows. Alessandro holds his PhD in Molecular Oncology from the Universita degli Studi di Milano.
