To accelerate your drug development program, our peptide discovery team exploits a synthetic technology platform which integrates automated peptide synthesizers, state-of-the-art microwave technology and ligation techniques. This allows us to produce bespoke peptide tools including long and difficult peptide sequences, small proteins, labelled peptides and small proteins with post translational modifications.
We’ve reduced synthesis times by approximately 90%thanks to recent advances in microwave technologies and improvements in chemical coupling efficiency. We have also introduced pseudo prolines at suitable positions to increase the quality of the crude material. This enables us to synthesize complex peptides with >100 residues reliably, positively impacting purification yield.
Our purification platform comprises size exclusion chromatography, RP-HPLC and ion exchange chromatography to generate a clean, well-characterized product that can be further characterized by high resolution mass spectrometry techniques. Peptides can be obtained at high purity in different salt formats such as acetate, hydrochloride and sodiate.
IRBM’s peptide chemists are ready to apply native chemical ligation strategies to synthesize longer peptides and small protein domains. Chemo-selective peptide conjugation provides an effective alternative to other non-native methods.
The technique uses a unique reaction process to achieve discrete coupling of the N-terminal of one peptide to the C-terminal of another peptide. This extends the peptide chain while maintaining native sequence and bonding characteristics and allows post translational modifications such as phosphorylation or orthogonal chemical functionalities (such as azide) for post-synthesis derivatization.
